More food highlights

A couple of meals out and one more meal in. The featured image is a monkfish and prawn skewer in Fuzetta, Portugal. The lunch picture is in Sintra and the other image is home made dinner in Cascais. The middle pic is a sweet treat, the very popular portugese custard tart.

We left Portugal and headed for the Spanish city of Vigo on the North West coast. Only there for a couple of nights so decided to eat out both nights. The highlight was at a place called Polbo bar in Plaza Constitucion. We had padron peppers, which were delicious and followed with paella style rice with squid and scallops. Washed down with a jarra (1 litre) of Sangria Tinto – great value at approx £35. I would highly recommend this place.

In Bordeaux we came across a great restaurant I recommend called Frida. It’s not the cheapest but it is well worth it, not just for the food but also a great atmosphere. Get a table outside in the courtyard if you can.

Our last meal in La Rochelle before heading off to the station was in a very nice square called Place de la Fourche, very nice taglietelli Putenesca.

This is in Bourges, our final destination before heading home. Not a meal out but we found a really nice butchers near our apartment and bought 2 lovely marinated lamb loin steaks. Cooked up a very nice little dinner of pan fried lamb with roast spuds and ratatouille.

This time it’s Cyprus and here are 3 lovely meals we’ve enjoyed so far.

We’re now in Australia and we stopped for a meal in Narooma, a town on the east coast south of Sydney. The restaurant is called Quarter Deck. Great food and a superb location.
