Although we have used trains mainly for our travels in Europe there are some routes where a bus is just as good, and in parts of northern Spain it’s the only alternative, as high speed railway infrastructure isn’t as developed as in other countries like France.
We took a bus from Burgos to Biarritz, had to change at San Sebastian, but the whole journey was about 4 and a half hours, and everything was on time. The buses themselves are comfortable, and unlike the UK road network, hold ups and traffic jams are rare. This particular journey rewarded us with some amazing ever changing scenery.
