A couple of meals out and one more meal in. The featured image is a monkfish and prawn skewer in Fuzetta, Portugal. The lunch picture is in Sintra and the other image is home made dinner in Cascais. The middle pic is a sweet treat, the very popular portugese custard tart.

We left Portugal and headed for the Spanish city of Vigo on the North West coast. Only there for a couple of nights so decided to eat out both nights. The highlight was at a place called Polbo bar in Plaza Constitucion. We had padron peppers, which were delicious and followed with paella style rice with squid and scallops. Washed down with a jarra (1 litre) of Sangria Tinto – great value at approx £35. I would highly recommend this place.

In Bordeaux we came across a great restaurant I recommend called Frida. It’s not the cheapest but it is well worth it, not just for the food but also a great atmosphere. Get a table outside in the courtyard if you can.

Our last meal in La Rochelle before heading off to the station was in a very nice square called Place de la Fourche, very nice taglietelli Putenesca.

This is in Bourges, our final destination before heading home. Not a meal out but we found a really nice butchers near our apartment and bought 2 lovely marinated lamb loin steaks. Cooked up a very nice little dinner of pan fried lamb with roast spuds and ratatouille.

This time it’s Cyprus and here are 3 lovely meals we’ve enjoyed so far.

We’re now in Australia and we stopped for a meal in Narooma, a town on the east coast south of Sydney. The restaurant is called Quarter Deck. Great food and a superb location.

More Australia food highlights

So we’re now in New Zealand, and continuing to enjoy doing some lovely home cooking with local produce. We do intend to eat out at a local street market tomorrow. Here’s a couple of highlight meals so far.

Stopped at a great place in Picton and had a very nice bowl of green lipped mussels for lunch. Would recommend this place if passing, see link

Went out in Napier for a curry. This restaurant was pretty good, Rasoi

Lovely home cooked pan fried snapper at our place in Kopu, Coromandel

More great food here in New Zealand, home cooked eye fillet steak and some very tasty pork belly tacos at a cafe/bar in Dargaville

Here we are in the Greek islands and here’s a few images of lovely food we’ve eaten there. We cooked in most nights, but enjoyed a few nice nights out too.

Went to a great restaurant in Orzola, Lanzarote called La Maresia and had some delicious food, started with a mix of croquettes, then Tuna bonbon and Octopus with bbq sauce and peanuts, washed down with a lovely jug of sangria. Service was great too.

Went to a lovely restaurant near to our Airbnb in Bari, but can’t remember the name of it annoyingly, but Elaine had a delicious octopus dish and I had an equally delicious Salmon dish. It’s in a little piazza near the sea front called Largo Adua.

Stopped for lunch in Alberobello, a beautiful unique little town about an hour from Bari. There are so many dining options here it’s a hard choice so we just picked one and went for it. We weren’t disappointed.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch on Spaggia della Contura beach, restaurant is Lido La Grazia
